I'm trying to decide between a Dufour 382 and a Jeanneau 389 for a potential charter investment. I'm looking for a boat that's built robustly enough to handle at least five years in charter service and still retain fair asset value afterward. Anyone here with in-depth experience with either of these models regarding their long-term durability in a charter fleet? I'd appreciate getting insights!

Both are good choices for charter service. From what I know, Jeanneau 389 tends to have a bit more cruising comfort while the Dufour 382 is known for solid handling and sail performance.

Have you looked into maintenance costs and resale values for each? bec I am not sure about that! hope someone here with firsthand experience can weigh in!

Which of the two do you think would attract more charter clients in your area, the sleeker design of the Jeanneau or the more straightforward, rugged feel of the Dufour?
