Thoughts on the Dufour 360 rig?

Checking here if anyone had experience with this setup. I race with my C&C 27 but thinking of going with one boat for light coastal cruising and casual club races. Looking at a 2022 Dufour 360, it's got a tail rig, single spreader and no backstay. Love everything about it but I am thinking about the durability over time.

That rig is neat for cruising. But no backstay is something that makes me super nervous long-term. You would too if you're used to pushing your C&C. I mean it could be fine for light sailing, but I wouldn't bet on it for rougher stuff.

I agree with this partially. The 360 can handle some light racing, but that's as much as I, you or anyone else should feel comfortable pushing. Maybe consider the Dehler 34 or the Elan E4 as better suited for something more competitive?

Over time, it's not inherently less durable than a traditional rig, but you'll want to keep an eye on the spreader base and mast fittings during annual inspections
