First haul out

Wrapped up our first haul out with our '06 Dufour 385 and thought I'd share a few findings, some expected, others not so much, I mean c'mon we knew she needed fresh bottom paint and a good look at the thru hulls, but once she was on the hard, these yard guys gave me that slow head tilt toward the keel and muttered the dreaded "Hmm…", I laughed because I knew it too and I saw it
Turns out the keel had a few rusty streaks near the joint and one suspicious looking patch that made it clear she'd taken a bit of a bump somewhere along the way, see me googling "Dufour keel bedding compound" at 1 a.m like a true boatowner, gotta love iron man
Asides from that, the rudder post, the zincs had gone full sacrificial hero, and the prop looked like it had hosted a barnacle rave, anyway I did the honours and now she's looking about 10 years younger.... at least below the waterline haha

Classic haul-out stuff! That rusty keel patch probably means she took a hit, but good on you for spotting it early.. Barnacle-covered prop and eaten-up zincs are pretty normal, so nice job fixing those. Your '06 Dufour 385 is looking way better below the waterline now for sure, ready to sail!
